I guess I should introduce myself. The name’s Erika. I’m a freshman in college. I’m double majoring in animal and equine science. Hopefully one day I’ll be a large animal vet. I have a horse, but he’s back home in NC. His name is Finn. We event but I mostly practice dressage. He’s basically the best thing that has ever happened to me. I also like photography, and I’ll take pictures of everything that moves. I’m not that good though, but its fun so I carry on. This blog is basically all my random thoughts and everything I like so its not going to be all horses for my new followers that are horse people. I went to this Baptist church BCM thing whatever last night with my friend because she didn’t have anyone to go with, and it was a really bad idea. I actually got really upset and almost started crying when I called my mom to tell her about it. It makes me mad and sad at the same time that people are so stupid. It really frustrates me that religion still exists. It doesn’t make any logical sense, and I don’t understand why people believe it. I don’t have much experience with other religions, but Christianity at least is so hypocritical. The minister person started out by talking about how people in other countries where Christianity isn’t the main religion and how they’re persecuted for being Christian and how it’s terrible and horrible that these people are being treated like this, and all I could think about was “Isn’t this how you treat homosexuals in our own country? Isn’t this how you treat people of other religions in America? You don’t accept their lifestyles, yet it’s so terrible that other people don’t accept yours?” And then, like 30 minutes later, he was talking about how there’s this program that sends missionaries into other countries to spread the word of christ. WHY THE HELL can’t we just leave other people alone?! Why can’t Christians and Americans in general just stay the fuck out of other peoples business? Why can’t we just let them believe what they believe, and just let them figure it out for themselves? You can’t just go into another country and change things when it’s none of your business, and expect people to be okay with it. Basically every major conflict in human history has religion as one of it’s causes. I would make the argument that if we didn’t go into the Middle East and fuck things up there, 9/11 would have never happened because they wouldn’t have been mad at us for screwing up stuff in their country and not fixing it. For some reason Americans just can’t leave things alone. It is so stupid that for some reason we have the be the big brother of the world Let other people believe what they believe. It also really fucking bothers me that people take the bible and warp it to say what they want it to say. If you REALLY think about what Jesus would do, he would accept EVERYONE. He wouldn’t try to persecute gays or people who have sex before marriage, he would love everyone, even people of other religions. And speaking of gays, why are we trying to take away their civil rights, like being able to visit their significant other in the hospital. Why can’t they just get married?! Is it going to hurt YOUR marriage? No. And why is the bible even being brought up in court? SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, PEOPLE. HELLO. Does no one else notice how Christianity is the basis of this argument? That’s not how the government is supposed to work! The bible says a bunch of stuff besides the argument against gay marriage. Like in Levitcus 20:9, it says that every child that is disrespectful or disobeys his parents shall be put to death. Do we follow that rule? Of course not. And that scripture is only 3 verses above the “anti-gay” scriptures. There are a TON of things in the bible that we don’t follow today, so why should we just follow some of it? We shouldn’t. That is just wrong! I understand that religion was very important a long time ago, and humanity wouldn’t be as advanced as it was today, but we honestly don’t need it anymore. We can’t be expected to follow the bible as it is, because it was written thousands of years ago. The rules that applied then do not apply today at all. So why is it still here? Why can’t we all just try to live as good a life as possible without trying to change other people’s beliefs?

UGH, OMG PEOPLE. WHY CAN’T WE JUST TAKE A STEP BACK AND LOOK AT WHAT WE’RE DOING? WHY DOES RELIGION EXIST, WHY DO WE FEEL THE NEED TO TRY AND CHANGE OTHER PEOPLE TO SUIT US? WHY CAN’T WE JUST ACCEPT PEOPLE FOR WHO THEY ARE?
